Apparatus:
Gator

Purpose:

The Gator
is a four wheel drive "personnel carrier" obtained as a resource for hazardous materials response. It is smaller and far less expensive than other fire-rescue apparatus, making the vehicle less of a sacrifice should it be permanently contaminated by a hazardous substance.

The Gator is also well suited to the woodland roads and trails found throughout Auburn. Normally fitted to transport an injured person, it can be quickly changed to carry more personnel and equipment to a brush fire or other off-road incident. The Gator is stored in an enclosed trailer towed by Car-1.
