Purpose:

Tanker-2
responds to building fires with lots of water. Its first purpose is to supply water to fire incidents by either directly feeding an Engine from its 2500 gallon onboard tank, or by shuttling from a source of water to the scene of a fire and quickly dumping into a 2500 gallon port-a-tank "swimming pool" to supply the Engine.

The tanker also carries ladders, hand lines, air packs and firefighter tools to augment the equipment carried by the first-due Engine at a fire scene.
